IG Reel: Do We Have to Be Kind All the Time?
Hey there, I posted my very first reel on Instagram and I want to share it here, too. In this 7-minute reel, I answer two questions: 1) How to be kind when we’re feeling upset or disappointed? and 2) Are we supposed to be kind all the time?
Spoiler: No. Sometimes, we gotta fight back.
I explore the nuance in our feelings and expression, posing important questions: Can we allow space for all of our complicated and contradictory feelings to breathe? Can we learn to express our anger? Can we learn to be with and listen to our feelings for as long as they need us?
I then conclude with tying these ideas to the importance of understanding your origin story. And from there, taking creative control of writing the rest of it.
Moving Forward
If you watched this and feeling the weight of your own complexity, let me offer you this: you're not broken for feeling multiple things at once. You're not confused for holding contradictions. You're human.
And the work of building a new emotional foundation, one that can hold all of who you are, is some of the most sacred work you'll ever do.
Open to explore this in therapy?
If you're ready to begin this work of holding nuance, exploring self-discovery, and creating new stories, I offer virtual therapy sessions for LGBTQ+ individuals and women in Los Angeles, California, Colorado, and Texas.
Email me: noemi@stillnesstherapy.net to book a complimentary 20 minute introductory call, and let's start talking about what's possible when you start honoring your complex humanity.
